Ystwyth Vets: Providing 24/7 Animal Care
Ystwyth Veterinary Practice is long-established in the town of Aberystwyth, in West Wales. We are an independent, family-run, mixed practice, serving the town and its surrounding rural area.
Our 12 strong team of veterinary surgeons cover primary care for all aspects of practice, and are ably supported by a great team of both qualified and trainee veterinary nurses, and our dedicated administrative staff. You will find us located in the leafy suburbs, in Llanbadarn Fawr, with plenty of parking on-site. We are available 24/7, providing our own out-of-hours service to our clients.
We also provide some referral services, both on farm and for the companion animal sector, and further details are to be found in the relevant areas of this website.
Please feel free to browse the website and if you don’t find what you are looking for, simply lift the phone and ask! We love what we do, and are ready to help you in whatever way we can.
Concerned about your pet? Does your pet need to see us and how urgent is it? Please use our symptom checker to find out.
Concerned your pet has eaten something it shouldn’t? Please use our poison guide below to find out.
When a pet is diagnosed with a condition and there’s a lot of information to take in, or when you want to know more about a disease, illness or general pet health, we’ve provided some vet-written factsheets for your convenience.
Our reviews tell the personal experience of an owner who has trusted us with the care of their pet, something we never take for granted. Read our reviews below.
Why Choose Ystwyth Vets
Ystwyth Vets is owned by 3 Aberystwyth families and take great pride in our personal service to our community
Unlike a majority of practices, who are owned by large, often global corporate businesses, we are proudly independent, and can offer a service that is directly relevant to our community
Many of our staff are Welsh speakers, and several others are actively learning.
Vet Nurse Training Practice and EMS
We are a recognised Training Practice for nursing students, and we take vet students for EMS.
We strive to offer value for money, whilst maintaining a very high standard of clinical care. We are a RCVS practice Standards practice, and undergo regular, detailed Royal College inspections.
We provide our own out-of-hours emergency care to our clients. You never have to travel to another practice in an emergency, or wait for a vet from another area to come to your farm.
We listen to you!
We love feedback, and invite you to help us continue to improve our service to you, our clients, without whom we would not have a business.
